The Inspiration

This isn't just about hair; it's about fostering a healthy self-image and combating systemic discrimination from a young age. The research showed that hair bias and discrimination can start impacting girls as young as five, setting a concerning precedent for their future experiences in education and the workplace.

According to the 2021 Dove CROWN Research Study for Girls, race-based hair discrimination is a pervasive issue that impacts Black girls deeply, particularly in predominantly White schools.

As a leader in the beauty industry and a co-founder of the CROWN Coalition, Dove is pushing the envelope by bringing the CROWN Clubs to schools. The objective? To extend the reach of the CROWN movement into educational settings where young Black girls are most vulnerable. Through CROWN Clubs, we aim to offer tangible methods for natural hair care and combatting hair discrimination and microaggressions.

Imagine a world where a young Black girl never has to question the beauty of her natural hair or face bias because of it. That's the world we're striving to create, and CROWN Clubs are how we get there—one school, one girl, one Crown at a time.

Creating The Future Workplace: Your Crown, Your Career

Breaking barriers is what we're about, and thanks to the signing of the CROWN Act in 2019, we're not alone. This groundbreaking law aims to end race-based discrimination, ensuring that your natural hair is accepted and embraced, even in professional settings like the workplace.

Why does this matter?

Recent studies have painted a concerning picture: Black women in the U.S. often don't feel included, connected, or trusted by their colleagues. According to a 2022 report, a staggering 66% of Black women reported feeling unsafe at work.

Imagine walking into your future job where your skills and talents are what truly matter, and your natural hair is celebrated, not scrutinized.

That's the future we're working towards, and YOU are a crucial part of making this vision come to life.

Let's create workplaces where our natural hair isn't just tolerated but celebrated, where you don't have to compromise your identity to achieve your dreams.
